Warm Up: (Daily Warm ups-Monday)
1. What are the elements of a map?
2. What is the main latitude at 0'? What is the main longitude at o'?
3. What are the 5 themes of geography?
Open your notebook on the next odd numbered page and write the title: MAPS.
Write the definition for each of the elements, using the text book on pg. A1 create a symbol and write a sentence.
Using the elements of the map on pg A1 answer the questions:
1.If you travel from Mexico city to Caracas what direction would you be traveling?
2.About how far is it from San Paolo to Belo Horizonte in Brazil?
3.How is the most of the land in Brazil used?

HW: Create a map of your neighborhood. Make sure you have included all the elements of a map: title, scale, compass rose, legend. Make it colorful. I should be able to read a recognize the place on there. Include more than just the houses around you. Due Wednesday

and turn it over the:
LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE
